Roman's POV

I stood there in shock, staring at Elizabeth in front of me.

For a moment I couldn’t even move. My hand stayed frozen on the door handle, my shoulders stiff, my breath slightly stuck in my chest. I wanted to speak, but no words came out at first. My brows pulled together on their own, because honestly… I never thought Elizabeth or any woman in her right senses would do what Elizabeth just did.

I thought I had seen it all.

From betrayal, to finding out I had a child, to watching that same child be taken from me, to fighting tooth and nail just to locate her and bring her back home. I’ve been pushed mentally, physically, emotionally — I’ve been broken and pieced back together more times than I can count.

But I never expected something like this.
