Waylon Gray nodded at Bill Clay, and then he withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Alena Wright as if he had missed her face so much.
Alena Wright looked at Bill Clay's retreating back and then she looked at Waylon Gray and asked quietly, "Didn't you say before that Assistant Clay had returned to City A? Why is he still showing up here?"
Waylon Gray's eyes widened as he remembered the lie that he told Alena Wright to coax her to live with him.
He coughed slightly, and explained, "After what happened to you in the pool, I called him from City A."
Alena Wright didn't believe him at all. She pointed to the clock beside her, and relentlessly broke through his lie, "It's early morning, and it's only four hours since I fell into the water. The plane from City A to City B would take at least two and a half hours, not to mention that it's midnight and he cannot buy any ticket. Do you think I will believe what you say?"
