Chapter 79. I’m Ready

Heat flamed up my cheeks instantly, burning hot and spreading down my neck. The rest of what happened last night crashed over me like a wave. I had been unconscious the whole day. The doctor must have given me some kind of injection because I felt a faint sting on my arm when I tried to move. I had opened my eyes a little last night but was too weak to get up. Ryder had come… then he had taken off my clothes, and his own, and carried me to the bathroom. He had washed me up gently, his hands careful on my skin, before placing me back on the bed to sleep.

My face burned even hotter, a mix of embarrassment and something warmer, more confusing, twisting in my stomach. Ryder… Ryder had washed me? A whole fucking CEO, the most powerful man everyone feared, had given me a bath like I was something precious.
