Kendra’s POV

I have my top three places which I hate the most, and those are hospitals, funeral homes, and cemeteries.

These three reminded me of the time I lost two important people in my life, my mom and Grandpa Jake.

It’s been two days since he passed, and we were stuck here at the funeral homes greeting people who didn’t even care about the Petersens at all.

All they wanted was gossip such as who is the next heir in line, who would inherit everything, and so on.

Unfortunately, even some of their relatives thought the same. Despite losing someone, they were more interested in the inheritance and the legacy he left.

I saw familiar faces and I hated the fact that they once mocked Grandpa Jake.

I couldn’t stand seeing them so I stood up and excused myself. Little did I know that Devvon followed me to the private room.
