Chapter 30. Wiped

Drake's POV

Call me paranoid but I couldn’t fall asleep that night. I felt so relieved after making love to my wife, but I couldn’t force myself to fall asleep. I just pulled her into my arms and cuddled her to sleep. I played with her hair, pecking her forehead softly, whispering nice words to her, promising my undying love and devotion.

She snuggled closer to me as she fell asleep on my shoulder with a smile on her face. She looked so beautiful, so peaceful, it was so hard to understand why anyone would want to hurt such a beautiful soul. She would never do anything to hurt anyone, she puts other people's feelings ahead of hers. It hurts me to know that she would have married my brother if I didn’t show up when I did. 

Everything that has happened since I stepped back into this city has been leading me right to this point. I am certain that this is where I want to be, and I am prepared to do everything possible to keep her safe. Looking at h
