Chapter 30. Is Madeline Alive?

Elly placed a glass of water in front of John, she sat down, opposite John.

John smiled moodily. "When did we have this distance? You don't want to sit next to me anymore?"

She bitten her lips, Elly did not know what to say. The atmosphere was filled with shame.

John said. "Elly. I apologize for buying the plane ticket without asking your opinion. I'm sorry that going to the company affects your work and your reputation."

 Such a sincere and serious apology made Elly unhappy. The hangover felt like she was the guilty one.

After took a deep breath, Elly said in a morbidity way. "I don't want to bring my personal thing into my work. I am not afraid of being ashamed, I just want to have a transparent life work."

She stopped hesitantly. "Elliot, you still don't want me to stay in City A, work in Hargreaves Co.?

Elly didn't see John's hands were clenched. "Elly, promise me, treat Alex as your boss, no more no less, ok?"
