She walked up to the door, placed her hand on the doorknob, and to her amazement it gave way. It seemed he was really serious about her doing whatever she liked here, the only problem about this house was that it was in the middle of nowhere and she doubted that Keir or Hardin would be able to locate her on time.

Even if they were able to locate her, would Alex give her up so easily to them? She was about to step out of the door to pursue after Alex and see if she could convince him to let her off when a maid walking down the hallway stopped in front of her bowing her head and saying something to her.
