Chapter 140
Tami's POV
Amidst the dazzling ambiance, her smile seemed forced, her eyes betraying her and reflecting her state of mind that contrasted sharply with the joyous occasion.
I felt bad for her as I knew that deep down, she harbored a heart heavy with unspoken longing, her love for Shlok overshadowed by the bitter sting of betrayal. Yet, she adorned herself in a facade of happiness, concealing her inner turmoil as Mihir was so much in love with her that she wanted to look happy for him as well as our families, as everyone expected to see a very happy and radiant bride.
But her forced smiles and strained laughter mirrored my own inner conflict, a silent testament to the sacrifices we made in the name of duty and obligation.
"Oh I am sorry, Tami, you missed the ritual of welcoming him as his sister-in-law." Gauravi said to me.
"It is okay… Sri is there to do, the cutting of the ribbon ceremony." I replied shaking my head.
