By the time I arrived at my house and had a well-deserved shower, it pumped me up and ready to take on everyone, especially Vincent Baker. I would accept nothing like this. I contacted his company, demanding to talk to him

If I didn’t get him in place, things would get out of hand. The idiot created the contract only for his personal gain. He would definitely hear me!

It was more than obvious that I had surprised the bastard’s assistant and caught her off guard. It wasn’t until I said my name that I heard her trying to sugarcoat the situation

“I’m sorry, Miss Glare, I didn’t recognize you”

Irritating jazz music rang in my ear as she awkwardly excused herself.

God dammit! And then I heard her shaky voice again. “I am sorry again, Miss Glare, but Mr. Baker is not here right now! Do you wish to give you his private number so you can talk with him?”

Now that was something I didn’t expect to happen. What was I going to answer? I didn’t
