Chapter 131. All of My Doubt

We reached the fountain in the center of the garden. He sat down beside me on the grass, while I sat down in front of him, keeping my distance from him.

He looked at me, his face full of sadness, “What happened to us?” He asked quietly, holding his right hand tightly, “I miss you so much.”

“I’m sure you do.” I replied, “But I love Riccardo. And I don’t plan to give him back to you.”

“Why not?” he whispered in desperation.

I hesitated for a moment and sighed deeply, “Because I’m not yours, and we don’t belong together.”

“What about our baby? She’s yours, isn’t she?” he said desperately.

“Of course she is! And I’m truly grateful to her! But that doesn’t mean I have to forget about you! Don’t think that you can manipulate me and steal my happiness, my baby deserves so much more than your miserable fate!”
