Chapter 145. Our Romantic Moments Together

“I’ve decided,” I began.

He nodded quietly, waiting for me.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. This was it. The moment of truth.

“I love you, Riccardo,” I said firmly. “But I can’t ignore the danger that surrounds you, and I can’t pretend that everything will be okay.”

Riccardo’s eyes darkened with concern as he listened intently.

“Are you saying you want to leave?” he asked quietly.

“No,” I replied firmly. “I’m saying that I would like to help you, but on my terms.”

Riccardo nodded slowly, his expression thoughtful.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“I mean that I don’t want to be left in the dark about what’s going on,” I said. “I would like to know what’s happening, and I would like to be involved, but only if it doesn’t put me in danger.”

Riccardo’s face softened with relief, and he took my hand gently.
