Chapter 69. I Swear to You

It was the night of our one-year anniversary when Luca showed me just how well he knew me. He surprised me with a romantic dinner on the rooftop of one of his warehouses, complete with candles, soft music, and my favorite Italian dishes.

After dessert, we stood up from the table and moved closer together. There was an unspoken understanding between us that something special was going to happen.

Luca took my hand in his and led me to the edge of the roof, where we could see the lights of the city spreading out before us.

“Alessia,” he said softly. “I have loved you since the day we first met...and every day since then has only deepened my feelings for you. You are my soulmate...my partner in life and love...and I can’t imagine a future without you in it.”

He got down on one knee and produced a ring from his pocket - a simple but elegant diamond set in platinum.

“Will you marry me?” he asked, his voice filled with emotion.
