Chapter 89. With Much Incident
I tried to break things off with Riccardo, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He would show up at my doorstep uninvited, call me multiple times a day and leave threatening messages if I didn’t answer.
One day, after months of trying to avoid him, I came home to find Riccardo waiting for me inside my apartment. My heart raced as I backed away from him.
“You can’t keep doing this, Riccardo,” I pleaded with him. “I don’t want any more of your gifts, I want to avoid seeing you again.”
“But I can’t live without you,” he insisted, his voice low and husky.
“That’s not my problem!” I yelled, backing up towards the door. “Please just leave me alone!”
