Chapter 186

Eric's POV

Along the way, I got a call on my phone. I suspected Lucy, probably she was calling to check up on me. It surprised me however when I checked the screen of my phone and Charles’ name appeared on top. I quickly tapped on the green button. The call timer popped up.

“Charles?” I called out first, not even giving him a chance to greet me. It seems I missed him a lot. I wondered why he called me when most of the time we'd always chat on WhatsApp or any of the social media platforms.

“My Alpha boss, how are you doing?”

I chuckled. “I'm not your boss any longer.” My voice sounded kind of dragged and filled with regret. I was thinking about my life, I wasn't happy the way it recurred at every slightest instance.

“I can perceive some sorrows in your tone. You know I called to check on you, if anything is going on, you might as well tell me.” He offered and I took a deep breath, feeling it was too early to tell him this and then he mig
