"I have no doubt they will, Carter. And I'll be right there with you every step of the way." Carla nods, her expression filled with encouragement.

Carla's still in shock.

"I can't believe what I've just heard. Carter, the person I've come to care deeply for, is not just a guest in the old close friend but the king and queen's first son, the Alpha king." Her mind races with questions right now, I can guess this through her eyes, she turns to me, still trying to process this new revelation.

"Carter, why didn't you tell me sooner?" I ask, my voice filled with a mix of shock and curiosity. "I mean, being a prince is a huge deal."

"I didn't tell you because it's a tradition in the royal family to keep the identity of the heir a secret, even from those closest to them. I wanted you to know me for who I am, not for my title." Her gaze meets mine, my expression filled with a mixture of vulnerability and relief.
