“It may also be because I was so stressed,” I said, trying to defend myself and stop him from thinking that I might be pregnant.

His forehead creased. “Are you stressed because of the LHI project?” he asked, sounding a bit worried.

“Well… it is one of the reasons. LHI is a big project, and everyone in the industry wants to get it. Plus, I’ve always wanted to work on a project with LHI.”

Yes! It seems like he believed my excuse. Though it’s also true that I’m very stressed right now, and the LHI project is indeed the source of it. I’m torn between wanting to pursue this project or not. I wanted this project badly before because it would allow my company to secure more international projects. However, knowing that the father of my twins is the CEO of LHI, I’m considering on giving up this project.
