“What is it? What’s going on?” I could hear the words but my brain wouldn’t process them. I was mad at everyone and everything, especially myself. I tossed my phone and sat down, contemplating what was going to happen from here.
“Prepare, we’re heading back to London.” I muttered.
“What? Now? We just—”
“Do as I said, damnit!” I roared in frustration. We just got here. I wanted this to be a fun little escape for both of us but things changed.
I heard her retreating footsteps. I stayed up, sipping alcohol, wondering how I was going to face my best friend. It has to be done. I don’t even see any reason why I should keep hiding.
