Chapter 165
"I'm a doctor," Rowen coughed softly. "There's nothing to be shy about. Don't be shy about being a doctor."
"I was," he said, "more and more angry, my palm patting the toilet lid."
"I said I'm okay; don't talk about this topic!"
"But you…"
"He doesn't go in, and I can't be damaged! At most…"
I looked down at my leg, which was bent into the shape of an omega, and again I felt ashamed.
I can't close my legs at all.
It's a good thing Rowen can't see it. I waddled out on my legs like a duck, the sticky stuff trickling down with each step.
I felt another wave of feeble shame. I swear I'm going to outlive Xavier, and when he dies, I'm going to dance on his grave with my two good legs.
Rowen and Xavier are birds of a feather. Rowen follows Xavier's lead. It doesn't matter how close I am to him.
