They all looked back and saw Clarissa in her elegant white dress. Clarissa approached Axel and grabbed the man's arm, but Axel refused and brushed it off.
"Sorry, Clarissa. There is a misunderstanding between us. I want to clear up the rumors circulating in the media right now about our engagement. I have never considered you my lover, let alone accepted you as my fiancé. All of that is just my mother's opinion and your assumptions. I wanted to be polite to you all this time."
Clarissa's face was red with anger and embarrassment. Her chest heaved up and down with difficulty breathing.
