“Why are you doing this?” I choked out weakly. “What did he ever do to you?…”

“He took everything from me, Lily,” he said, his expression twisted with hatred so deep it made my skin crawl. “You’ve never been in a position where someone takes everything from you without even lifting a finger. So no, I don’t expect you to understand. I’m just returning the favour.”

“What could Robert have possibly taken from you for you to want him dead? I mean look at you… you’re perfect. Your life is perfect, every young man’s dream. What more could you want?…”

“Enough!” He interjected irritatingly, fuming with anger. “Enough of your stupid questions. My mind is already made up. Nothing you do or say now, not even your crocodile tears will stop me from continuing with my revenge. Now, let’s get down to business.”

An evil smirk curled his lips as he started advancing towards me in slow, menacing steps like a prowling predator closing in on its prey.
