‘What?!’

That’s the reaction I’m getting in my head from Alpha Kane now that he has finally answered me again.

‘I know you heard me,’ I say. It was starting to piss me off waiting to hear from him, so my patience was running thin. He’s supposed to fucking rescue me! ‘It’s a mind-link, not a telephone,’ I add. ‘It’s not like I can whisper in your head.’

‘Well, I’ve been a little fucking busy out here!’ he hollers. Apparently, you actually can holler in one’s head even if you can’t whisper. How rude. ‘Anyway, repeat what you said about the king.’

Typical male. There’s no, ‘I’m coming to get you,’ or ‘I’ll move heaven and earth to rescue you.’ Nope, he’s just ordering me around. If I didn’t need him to get me out of this dungeon, I’d ignore him. But he’s my only chance to get off this dirt floor and back to a halfway decent bed, so I play nice.
