The joy of having Reeva back is immeasurable, but it’s countered right now by the fear for my other babies who are still missing, and that unbearable mix of emotions is pouring down my face in the form of tears.

I hold my little Reeva as tight as I can. I’m never letting her out of my sight again.

I’m numb as I watch the guards drag off the woman who had stolen her. I don’t know what her story is, but Reece is following them into some back room to find out.

As I take a step to follow him, Shelby runs up to me. “Rose!” she calls, and she somehow hugs me and Reeva at the same time. She looks over at the guards and the woman they’re dragging away. “Rose, don’t,” she says. “Let’s get you somewhere where you can feed her. She must be starving.”

My eyes move back to my baby. She’s right. My Reeva’s needs come first. I have no doubt that Reece will get to the bottom of whatever that crazy woman was doing with my baby, so I nod. Shelby lea
