Chapter 131. We Finally Did It!

As the months went by, we fell deeper in love with each other. We spent our days exploring the woods around our home, hunting and playing like the wolves we were. At night, we curled up together in our den and talked about everything and anything.

One evening, as we lay tangled in each other’s arms, Jake turned to me with a serious expression on his face. “Claire, I have something I want to ask you,” he said softly.

I looked up at him, my heart racing. “What is it, Jake?”

He took a deep breath. “I know it’s been hard for you, losing Ethan and all. But I want you to know that I love you more than anything, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?”
