Duke Mark Chapman stood tall and handsome in his fancy suit from the ball. They were all still dressed in their finest tailored wear as he addressed the room.

"Good morning, Your Majesty," he turned and bowed to Alpha King Jairus, who sat at the head of the table.

Duke Mark Chapman turned to the room, "Gentlemen, I would make this quick as the King has important matters to see to." He nodded in acknowledgment, and his light gray eyes swept across the room.

Some of the nobles were still hanging around the ballroom gossiping. The council members had only stepped away after being summoned by the King.
