Chapter 36. A Dreaded Playdate

Riley POV

“Good. Now listen to me very carefully, because this is important.” She grabbed my shoulders and looked directly into my eyes as I watched her carefully wondering what was important.

“When you meet Ollie today, you’re going to shake his hand with your right hand. The one wearing the special glove. Do you understand?” She said holding the gloved hand.

“Why?” I asked curiously, wondering what was so special shaking his hand and even with this glove on and why she was being so insistent on it.

“Because that’s how you make friends, Riley. You shake hands and introduce yourself properly. It’s good manners.”

That seemed reasonable enough, though something about the way she said it made me think there was more to it than just being polite.
