The drive home felt like the longest twenty minutes of my life. My hands were gripping the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles had gone white, and I could feel my wolf pacing beneath my skin, it was also agitated by the numerous emotions that were going through me.

What I had witnessed in my own kitchen kept replaying in my mind.

Lumina’s face, filled with rage as she pressed Sophia’s hand against the burning stove. I could smell the scorched hand and I could still hear Sophia’s screams of pain and terror.

The way my mate had looked at me afterward – not with shame or regret, but satisfied about what she had done.
