Chapter 7. The Change

Xenois POV

One year ago.

The early morning sunlight was pouring into the room, the curtains being light enough for the rays to pass through , casting golden stripes across our bedroom.

I stirred, reaching for Luna beside me, but found her side of the bed empty and already cold.

It seemed like she had been up for a while.

It was strange. Luna was the kind of person who always slept in when she could.

The house seemed to be different too.

There was a warm scent in the air. It felt richer, warmer. Pancakes?

The scent of butter and maple syrup drifted up the stairs, as it woke me up completely from sleep.

My wolf moved for a moment inside me, oddly restless. Something felt... off. . I shook the feeling away and headed for the shower.

I stood under the cold shower which woke me up completely as I washed myself while my mind went astray thinking of the responsibilities that had been thrust in my hands.
