Chapter 15. Their First Meeting

The doctor’s office was exactly as I remembered Dr. Martinez had been our family physician for years, a competent enough doctor but one that failed me when it mattered most.

In my previous life, Dr Martinez had told me about the magic siphon that was happening and had informed me to tell Xenois which I did repeatedly, insisting something was wrong, only for Xenois to brush it aside and say it was normal childhood illnesses, nothing to worry about.

And without his permission, Dr Martinez's hands were tied up and she couldn’t do anything to help me. By the time it was serious, it had been too late.

Not this time.

“Mrs. Blackwood,” Dr. Martinez said, looking up from her computer as I entered her office. “What can I do for you today?”

“I want a complete body scan for my son,” I said, going straight to the point, sitting in the chair across from her desk.
