Chapter 49. Memories (4)

Sophia's POV

I took a deep breath, gathered my courage and opened my eyes, but I had to blink several times for my gaze to focus. I can see a red liquid spread across the floor and I can smell iron, I look at my hands and blood is running down them, I shake my head slightly and see that the liquid is coming from cuts made on my arms.

"I'm going to give you a saline solution, so you can wash your arms." The male voice spoke, and I cringed as soon as I saw the shadow of his hand approaching, but he left the bottle of saline in front of me and then walked away. "You need to clean your arms, otherwise they might inflame."

I reached out and took the glass, and I can feel the pain start to radiate through my muscles. I let out a low groan, but I started to clean the wounds, most of them were already closed, but there were some deeper cuts that I know won't stop anytime soon.

"Can you bandage your arms yourself?" That voice asked, and I nodded, but
