“Zion, come to Grandma,” Evelyn called out first, gesturing firmly. Her tone left no room for questioning.

Zion glanced at Cassandra, then at Evelyn, but in the end, he walked straight towards Alexander.

The second Evelyn saw that the boy ignored her, her face darkened.

She was fuming, but she couldn’t bring herself to scold her precious grandson. In her eyes, all the fault had to lie with Cassandra.

Her anger found a new target. She snapped, “Cassandra, I didn’t care before when you partied outside till late, but today you dragged Zion out the whole day without saying a word to the family? What, are you using the kid as leverage to challenge this house now? Planning a little rebellion, are we?”

Cassandra didn’t even bother to respond. She knew that the more she explained, the harder Evelyn would come at her.

So she just lowered her gaze, lips pressed tightly, silent.

To outsiders, it probably looked like she was owning up to her mistake.
