“It’s all my fault. Ethan got hurt because of me.” Clara sobbed, her voice full of guilt.

Lilah hesitated for a second, unsure how to comfort her. “Clara, is Ethan badly hurt?”

“The doctor said it’s nothing serious, but I saw all that blood... I asked if it hurt, and he said no. But he’s lying, I know it.” Her voice cracked as she spoke, grief weighing heavily on every word.

Lilah sighed in relief. “Clara, you have to trust the doctors. If they say he’s fine, it should be okay.”

“Lilah, I just… I feel awful. I shouldn’t have gone back.” Clara’s regret was written all over her face.

Lilah’s tone softened. “Don’t beat yourself up. At least now you know where everyone stands. If you hadn’t gone, you’d still be wondering. What’s done is done, and I don’t think Ethan would regret going with you either.”

“He told me that too. Said as long as it’s for me, he doesn’t regret anything.” Clara had finally stopped crying, though her voice still trembled.
