As soon as Lilah Hart saw him, she asked, “Weren’t you in a meeting? How come you’re here so fast?”

Gabriel Wallace rubbed his nose awkwardly with a clenched fist. “What meeting could be more important than my wife?”

Then he asked, “You want tea? Coffee? Or maybe milk tea?”

“Lance already asked. I said no to all of it. Gabriel, come sit. I need to ask you something.”

She patted the seat beside her.

Gabriel knew he couldn’t dodge it this time. He obediently walked over and sat down.

Even sitting, his tall frame still made him a head taller than Lilah. But her aura was clearly stronger.

He sat there looking all well-behaved, like a student being scolded by the teacher. Though whether he was actually innocent or not, well, that was up for debate.

“Did you tell Leon that Heather went on a blind date?” Lilah went straight to the point.

“I did,” Gabriel replied without hesitation. “You know the bond I have with Leon.”
