Kelvin luxuriated in the wondrous sensation of drawing in a breath of fresh air, feeling as if he had been deprived of it for an eternity. It was as though he had traversed through countless decades, venturing away from the familiar human world into the haunting domain of predatory creatures. With a satisfying stretch of his body and a flick to remove the clinging dust from his clothes, he savored the newfound freedom.
"I never envisioned returning empty-handed and wallowing in such pathetic circumstances," Trevor grumbled to himself, his frustration simmering just beneath the surface.
Kelvin turned to Trevor, a glint of both amusement and melancholy dancing in his eyes, and replied, "Indeed, my friend. Yet, isn't there something strangely alluring about being back here? Once upon a time, we harbored an unwavering belief in our ability to vanquish any foe. Now, it stings to realize our helplessness, but it also elicits a twisted sense of amusement."
