Chapter 156. Blood-Stained Memories
Xerina’s POV
As the last symbol was drawn on the floor, the weight in the air became almost suffocating. Every nerve in my body was on edge and anticipation was crawling under my skin like a living thing.
I was having second thoughts now. And I didn’t know how I would cope up with it. My insides were crunching with nervousness and so were my hands.
They were all some strange kind of symbols. Moon. Stars. Sun. And as much simple as they seem, they were made with blood. Whose blood, I didn’t know and neither I wanted to know.
My whole family was there. At least that’s what they told me. Luca, Chrissy, Papa, Mama and Rasmus.
No one else was involved.
Papa was speaking with Mama regarding something I couldn’t hear from this far. But the way his nose scrunched and brows narrowed I knew he was worried.
A gentle squeeze on my hand jolted me as I looked to my side followed by a soft voice that didn’t match his rugged features. “You ready?”
