"You wanted to talk?" Simon asked Mace the minute he got back. He had gone in search of Mace in the pack house instead of Mace coming to him. "What is really going on with Scarlett that I am not aware of? Did something happen to her when the accident happened?" Simon was filled with so many questions. In fact, he would love it if Mace were to answer everything at once.

"Calm down, Simon." Mace said. He heaved a sigh as he went to take a seat on the pavement he had found. Simon decided to stand. With the questions on his mind, he couldn't even sit down. He took another breath as he raised his head and looked at Simon. "You are right."

"About what exactly? The part where it seemed so weird that she was perfectly normal even after going missing for days? Or the fact that she doesn't look like she really knows me?"

"Both."

"Tell me what really happened to her? I can bet that she isn't pretending not to know me. Why is this happening when I accepted her rejection?
