Chapter 25. Do You Think the Paranormal Is Real?

When Scarlett entered the house, October's expression startled her. Standing on the stairway, October had her arms crossed and her gaze narrowed.

Here comes trouble. Under her breath, Scarlett murmured.

"Scarlett, where have you been?" October asked with rage in her voice. Scarlett ignored her and made an attempt to leave, but she approached and stopped her.

"I am talking to you. Where have you been? I tried to call you so many times but got disconnected."

Scarlett gave a shrug. "Mom, you don't need to make a fuss over everything. I've just lost my phone. That's it."

With one hand, October quickly covered her nose. "Scar, what is this? Did you drink alcohol?" She drew nearer to Scarlett and gave her a proper sniff. "What's the matter with you? What are you becoming?"

"Mom, I don't have time for this. I just want to go inside and sleep, please." Scarlett whirled around to face Avery and Cornelia. "Let's go, girls. Let's go."
