Chapter 104. Growing Rift

Ayana’s POV

“Did you even think of calling her to find out why she was getting late all these late hours when she was out?” Adam asked.

Robby scoffed. “If only she was not too engrossed with whatever she was doing with you, then she should have answered my call!” Robby barks back, his voice coated with anger, glaring at me as if he indeed called.

Or did he? He called? How? When?

As his terrorizing eyes continue to burn my skin, his words hang in the air, making even my knight in shining armor lack words to defend us this time around. I did not hear my phone ring the whole of today. Not once.

I admit that I was so pissed off with him when I left home this morning, but that was not reason enough for me to ignore his call. If anything, I am under his roof, and I knew coming back this late was wrong. There was no way I was going to ignore his call.

“You called me?” I ask, my words wavering due to the unnerving glare that he is giving me.
