Silence lingers in the air for a very long moment. My nerves went through a series of campfire reactions, from shock to disbelief. I even felt like this was some kind of comic, and I had to restrain myself really hard from laughing. And finally, it went all flat.
Yeah, I didn’t feel any reaction, and those words, I blocked them from banging my head. There is no way these people can turn into saints or caring human beings overnight. So, what I thought I heard this man say is all a dream. A bad invalid dream.
