When I saw the woman standing before me, I froze. My breath caught in my throat as my entire body went numb. I could barely process what I was seeing. There she was—*me*. Or at least someone who looked so much like me that it sent a chill down my spine. My chest tightened as I struggled to comprehend the sight before me. The woman’s dark, piercing eyes mirrored my own, but there was something off—something sinister in her smirk that made my stomach churn.
The room was filled with murmurs, the sound of disbelief rippling through the crowd like wildfire. People whispered among themselves, their gazes bouncing back and forth between the two of us, as if trying to decide which one of us was real.
