Chapter 37
The drive back home was heavy with silence. Samuel’s grip on the steering wheel was tight, his thoughts consumed by worry for Abigail and frustration at their current predicament. Whizz stared out of the window, her expression a mix of concern and disappointment.
As they pulled into the driveway, the atmosphere was somber. Samuel turned off the engine and rested his forehead against the steering wheel for a moment, taking a deep breath.
“We can’t give up,” Whizz said softly, breaking the silence. “We’ll find another way to help Liya and rescue Abigail.”
Samuel looked at Whizz, his eyes reflecting a mix of determination and sadness. “I know we can’t give up. But it’s just… it’s hard seeing everything go wrong.”
Whizz nodded in understanding, her hand gently resting on Samuel’s arm. “I know, Samuel. It’s tough, but we have to keep pushing forward. We’ll find a way to get Liya out of this mess and find Abigail and her children.”
Samuel managed a faint smil
