The sound of running water continued in the background, a steady rhythm that seemed to underscore the awkwardness in the room. Whizz shifted on his feet, his gaze briefly flickering towards the hallway where Samuel had disappeared.
“Samuel seems really affected by what happened,” Whizz remarked, his tone thoughtful.
Liya nodded in agreement, her eyes distant. “Yeah, he’s taking it hard.”
They lapsed into silence once again, the weight of the recent events hanging heavily between them.
It was as if they were both grappling with their own internal battles, struggling to find the right words to bridge the gap that had formed.
The bathroom door creaked open, and Samuel emerged, his expression slightly softened. The running water had done its job in alleviating some of the tension etched on his features. His eyes briefly met Liya’s before he moved past them, heading towards his room without a word.
