Chapter 68. A Troubled Soul

Ellie's POV

He looks bothered by this guy, and that is why his attention is not directed at me today. What's with him? He turns to me, finally, after having had enough of Daniel. "What were you talking about with that guy?"

Ah, so he saw us? Or was he watching us? "How long were you watching us?" I query.

He gives me a quizzy glare, cocking his eyebrow. "I didn't say I was watching you. I just arrived a moment ago and found you in a serious dialogue with that guy and decided to give you some time to finish whatever you were talking about." He finishes his explanation, but I don't know why I am laughing at him. 

Don’t tell me he does not know how to lie. I mean, his idioms are so contracted to his words.

"What's funny?" He asks, his voice sounding more husky than it has ever sounded.
