Chapter 7
“There has to be something. There has to be. People can’t just break into my father’s lab for no reason.”
Dr. Mark, an average-sized man in his late 40s, got the message that his father’s laboratory was raided the night before. He left a long time ago to work as a laboratory physician at Castle Hill Hospital, and his work requirements have not been giving him any time to visit home.
His laboratory is like his home. His laboratory equipment is his furniture. There are cocked test tubes all around the table, each one labeled with a specific patient’s name and hospital number. The centrifuge spins blood on another table, and then there’s his computer and a pile of books and research papers on the desk, too.
“What if the burglars were just petty thieves?” Monica asks. Monica is Dr. Mark’s resident, and she’s been working with him
