Camila adjusted the cuff of her blazer, the soft fabric brushing against her wrist, as she watched Travis walk into the café. His confident stride betrayed no hint of hesitation; every movement was measured and controlled, a man in complete command of his space. She had chosen a corner seat, secluded enough to discuss delicate matters without prying eyes, yet still within view of the entrance to catch any unexpected arrivals.
“Travis,” she greeted, her tone a mixture of formal composure and veiled warmth as he approached. The corners of her lips threatened a smile, but the tension in her shoulders betrayed the stakes of their meeting.
“Camila,” he acknowledged with a subtle nod, sliding into the chair opposite hers. His piercing blue eyes locked onto hers, steady and analytical, scanning for any hint of deceit or hesitation. “You mentioned you wanted to talk about something important?”
