“And Hailey is just brilliant enough to figure it out.” Pride shone in Jared's eyes. Jared and uncle Pete looked impressed.

“I do my best.” I cleared my throat, carelessly ignoring the fluttering in my stomach.

“Philip Pillax is behind this?” Uncle Pete looked from me to Jared. “I'd always known that guy to be shady and dangerous. But he must have some guts kidnapping the President's daughter.”
