I watched her step out of the mall, my car parked far enough not to be noticed but close enough to keep her in sight. Rage simmered beneath my skin. Hatred coiled like a live wire. She was the cause of everything. And I was here to put an end to her nonsense.
I got out of my car, sunglasses on, and strode toward her. She was heading to her vehicle with shopping bags in hand. Jared’s former secretary walked beside her — but she wasn’t my concern.
“Hey, you.” My tone was coated in disdain.
She removed her sunglasses and assessed me calmly. “Didn’t expect to see you here, Mia. It’s been a while.”
