Chapter 87. Couple's Spat
Jared POV
“What did she come here to do, Jared?” She pushed herself away from me as I tried to help her to her feet, her turquoise-blue orbs staring heatedly at me.
“It’s nothing. Just let me help you up.” I tried again, but she would not let me. Unexpectedly, anger coursed through me. “Fine! Remain on the floor then!”
I rose to my feet and went to occupy my own chair, my head spinning spirally with conflicted thoughts. Why had I kissed her? What was the motive behind that kiss, and the way she had kissed me back?
