Chapter 26. Mistake

It didn't take long for Aurora to drift into a peaceful slumber, but Dave, on the other hand, remained restless. His mind was solely focused on the girl he adored, who was now sound asleep in his bedroom. Dave shifted to sit up, his hands cupping his face. He let out a deep, audible sigh before rising from his seat and making his way towards the bedroom.

The door creaked open softly. In the dim light, Dave could still clearly see Aurora's beautiful face, now peacefully asleep. He slowly approached the bed and slipped under the covers. Now, he could gaze at her lovely face without interruption. His hand gently brushed away a strand of hair that partially obscured Aurora's face. Dave couldn't believe that the girl he loved so deeply was lying beside him.

Suddenly, a surge of irritation washed over him as he thought about how reckless Aurora had been, driving all the way to his apartment by herself. Her stubborn and headstrong nature was what often caused him to worry. She
