Chapter 40. My Parents Have Got to Be Kidding Me

Mattias’s POV

The drive to Derry’s house felt like an eternity, my heart racing with worry and fear. I had to confront Derry and demand to know where Shimma was. The thought of her being taken away from me was unbearable. I couldn’t let that happen.

As I pulled up to the gates, the guards eyed me suspiciously as I parked my car. I stepped out, straightening my shirt and taking a deep breath. This was it. I had to be firm and demand respect.

“Good day, Sir Mattias. You know you’re not allowed in here,” one of the guards said as he approached me. Just before I could respond, Derry appeared at the gate, arms crossed and a frown etched across his face. “What are you doing here, Mattias?” he asked, his voice low and threatening.

“I need to talk to you about Shimma,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. “Where is she?”

Derry chuckled darkly, shaking his head. “You’re wasting your time, Mattias. She’s not here, and she’s not coming back.”
