As we drove into the driveway, my heart sank at the sight of flashing red and blue lights. Police cars crowded our compound, while an ambulance crew worked just in front of our gate. I could see a small gathering of people murmuring anxiously as they stared inside our compound. It felt so unbelievable. The house we had left quiet and perfect a few hours ago had become a crime scene.

“Mattias, what’s happening?” I asked, my voice trembling as I unbuckled my seatbelt.
